About Us
MEALS ON WHEELS OF NEW CANAAN is a non-profit community service which provides nourishing meals each weekday throughout the year to eligible citizens of New Canaan, Connecticut so that they may continue to live independently in their own homes. There is no age restriction.
What type of meals are provided?
Meal planning is overseen by a registered dietician to meet Consistent Carbohydrate Diet standards and are prepared by a professional chef and Waveny Care Center Dietary Department staff. One hot meal (soup, bread, entree, fresh fruit or dessert, and milk) and one cold meal (sandwich, side salad, fruit, and milk) are provided to each client daily.
How much do meals cost?
The current cost of the two meals provided daily is $9. Assistance is available for qualified clients unable to pay the cost themselves.
